Arnold SCHOENBERG : TRANSFIGURED NIGHT OP 4 - STRING QUARTET No 4 - Prazak Quartet, Bukac, Prause

In stock

For more than a half-century, Schoenberg virtually worshipped string instruments to which he dedicated his most beautiful non-vocal scores, from the Quartet in D major, over which hovers the influence of Brahms, up to his final Trio. Juxtaposed for the first time, two masterpieces resulting from the same Expressionistic intensity, one famous round the world, Transfigured Night, in its original version for sextet; the other, his final Quartet No. 4, Op.37, a powerful, original homage to the late Beethoven. Still awaiting its… transfiguration.
