Sandarac or sandarach resin is high-adherence lustrous, ultra clear, non-yellowing, hard and durable protective varnish. Applied in restoration as one of the first furniture varnishes with high gloss and durable finish. It is main component in many violin varnishes,  improving additive for shellac varnishes and main ingridient in preparation of retouching varnishes and  traditional sanding sealers .
