In the author's intention, "Rebirth" is a passage that reminds us that the human being can find its true realization only in a harmonious relationship with nature. Music is the main road that must guide us towards this reunion. The whole piece develops around a very melodic main theme which in its simplicity and purity has the building blocks for subsequent development. In the introduction, the first two bars of the theme are enunciated creating an archaic atmosphere: on a pedal, the Bassoon begins to play the theme and immediately after the English Horn, then, like a caress, other instruments are felt to "frame" this epiphanic moment . Subsequently, the theme, entrusted to the Flute, presents itself in its entirety, while the Harp and the double-bass in pizzicato form the accompaniment. However, the Harp does not just accompany, but throughout the piece it will often enter into dialogue with the theme. The theme is serene and relaxed, it evokes spaces and beauty and it would seem sufficient in itself if it were not that at its conclusion all the instruments, taking a cue from some of their thematic characteristics, present themselves in a spirit of poignant freedom made of sensations of continuous rebirth of shapes and colors, to evoke the most fascinating aspect of nature in its continuous evolution. The piece continues with the resumption of the theme played by the Clarinet; after the first bars, all the instruments take part in the theme alternating in colors, while the horns and saxophones carry on a countermelody that constantly dialogues with the main theme. The theme and countermelody express an important dualism for the profound meaning of the piece: they complement each other as man should be complemented by nature. The song ends with an isolated harmonic sound of the Harp which suggests that everything originates from a single sound, that everything has a beginning and an end in unity.
Certificate of merit at the VII Edition of the Competition of Composition of a March for Band
"The song is inspired by an episode of the two brothers Clara-Marie and Fritz in the ballet of
Tchaikovsky's nutcracker. The start of the march reproduces the moment when, on the stroke
at midnight, mice begin to appear in Clara-Marie's room. The trio
evokes the moment when Fritz's toy soldiers come out of their boxes to collide with the
mice, giving life to a battle in the "grandiose". The final part evokes the moment
of the defeat of the mice, turning the battle in favor of the toy soldiers. "
Original piece for Symphonic Band, in suite form, inspired by four metaphysical paintings. A highly suggestive composition, wrapped in multifaceted instrumental colors and mysterious melodies.
"The first time I met G. de Chirico's painting was as a boy in Paris with my mother; in particular, the exhibition was dedicated to the so-called period of silver. Those paintings had impressed me because, while faithfully representing objects in silver, almost as if it were a trompe l'oeil, a different dimension from the purely figurative one was clearly perceived: the silver mirrors objects arranged on the table including fruit and more and in mirroring them something magical, mysterious happened, because they seemed alive, arranged in a timeless dimension and the silverware itself seemed to dialogue with each other like living beings. This great mystery had fascinated me. After so many years, I thought of writing a suite of four pieces dedicated to some paintings by Giorgio de Chirico; only the first " Magic Waltz "was inspired by a painting by Neri Ceccarelli, an accredited painter from Turin. The link between my musical language and the I believe that metaphysics lies mainly in the use of melodic formulas and musical scales inserted in particular contexts and geometries, aimed at creating a sense of mystery alluding to another dimension that it would seem correct to define as "metaphysic
The march was presented (at the end of 2020), at the 3rd National Composition Competition for Band "ANGELO INGLESE", held in Molfetta (BA), receiving the special mention - Category A.

Walkable and / or concert composition, consisting of themes that recall the Gargano nature, observed during a walk through woods and sunny paths.
It is mainly made up of harmonic fragments rich in color and apple themes
When I was still a young composer I thought this piece for a brass quintet. Remained in the unexecuted drawer, as often happens with new music, recently, a group of musicians, a good brass quintet, took up the score to perform it, personally very happy and at the same time a little embarrassed, after all it was a youthful composition , I went to hear the concert unwillingly, but, to my surprise, the performance was truly touching and had a great impact on me and the audience.
Having rediscovered the piece and its good compositional potential, I thought of developing it for a larger project and for a symphonic orchestral team; so, I considered picking up the composition again, deepening and elaborating the idea, I kept the original compositional material unaltered, once again entrusting it to the brass quintet, and then merging it into the great texture of a symphonic wind orchestra. The bet, apparently won, was to combine the compositional language of youth with my current artistic / creative vision.
The piece is based on the classic elegiac form, the subtitle "Amarcord", which I instinctively associate with the famous film by Federico Fellini, is explanatory of the theme I deal with, it is in fact personal memories, the nostalgia of the past that emerges musically, creating a sort of scheduled music, of moments lived as a musician and human being.
