bleebla^® is our alter-ego. Its amusing phonetics, which may be associated with a babbling of unintelligible sounds, leads us to a world that we try to translate into objects that combine material and sensory traditions with contemporary concepts and techniques.

Our goal is to produce simple, timeless, high-quality objects that appeal to ageless senses and emotions. We pursue this goal throughout the entire design and production process, focusing on details, on the search and selection of raw materials, on careful manufacturing and packaging choices.

The bleebla collection will gradually bring together a series of products associated with 4 themes – jungle, sea, farm, and forest.

Concept

The bleebla products are designed considering, among other premises, aesthetic, sensory and sustainability issues. Through this combination we intend to create a collection based on small series that value design and production issues.

Our goal is to use materials whose properties allow providing pleasant experiences and stimulating different senses. We privilege natural and warm materials, with rich textures. Our products are manufactured locally, using national or European raw materials that, whenever possible, come from environmentally certified sources. So, we strive to reduce the environmental stress that is associated, not only with raw materials, but also with production-related transportation issues. Our products are also packaged in FSC - and PEFC - certified recycled cardboard boxes or wrappings.

We believe that bleebla products, by being designed and conceived this way, will be passed on from generation to generation, thus increasing their service life and becoming even more sustainable.

Short history

The 4 themes of the "Animal Box" – jungle, sea, farm and forest – were originally designed in 2009, being later selected for and displayed at the 1^st POPs – Original Portuguese Products – Exhibition organized by the Serralves Museum Shop. After a hibernation and incubation period, we are now launching these products with new materials and based on a new concept: the bleebla collection.

The bleebla products are designed by Ana Ferreira e Luís Leite, two architects based in Porto, Portugal.
